Frequently Asked Questions

  • SQSH is a private online community for anyone 18+ who needs a quiet, judgment‑free place to breathe, think, and feel human again, especially if you’re navigating unemployment, housing instability, financial hardship, or the exhaustion of surviving more than living.

It’s a softer corner of the internet, free from the chaos, comparison, and pressure found on most apps. Like writing in your journal, but with people who understand what it’s like to carry heavy things.

Our community lives on the Circle app, where members can post, reflect, vent, and connect in themed quiet rooms designed for real feelings, real hardship, and real healing, whether you’re housed, unhoused, in transition, or trying to get back on your feet.

No feeds to compare yourself to. No spotlight. No pressure to perform. No member‑to‑member messaging.

Just a calm place to land when life feels overwhelming, unstable, or too loud to navigate alone.

  • SQSH inspires members to invest in themselves and others by rewarding acts of kindness both within and beyond the community.

Members can earn Empathy Points through a variety of activities in and out of SQSH.

The goal is to encourage taking breaks from phones and spending more meaningful time engaged with the community.

  • We keep SQSH intentionally soft, safe, and respectful. That means:

    • No rage baiting or intentionally harmful content.

    • No body shaming, bullying, or judging someone’s story.

    • No unsolicited or action-based advice (like “you need to…” or “why didn’t you…”).

    • Respecting others’ emotional space at all times.

    • SQSH does not condone treating the retreat as something to follow, worship, or depend on completely.

    • Any form of cult-like influence, pressure, or group control is not permitted.

Members who break these guidelines will receive strikes, and after three strikes, their membership can be removed.

  • Yes, you can absolutely post anonymously here.

If you want to stay private, simply skip adding a personal photo when you create your Circle profile. Use a cartoon avatar, an illustration, or any gentle, non-offensive image that feels like you without revealing your identity.

    SQSH isn’t about looking perfect.

It’s not a place for selfies, filters, or performing for attention.

Here, how you feel matters more than how you look.

    We focus on:

    • meaningful reflections

    • honest moments

    • real thoughts

    • quiet emotions

    • soft conversations

    Not appearance.

    Not popularity.

    Not comparison.

If you want anonymity, you can have it.

If you want expression, you can have that too.

SQSH is built for comfort, not exposure

  • SQSH is made up of at least 14 themed rooms designed to mirror real emotional experiences — spaces where you can post or simply listen without the pressure of likes or external validation.

The spaces inside feel like a retreat, created for people who need a moment to recharge or decompress, especially during seasons of unemployment, housing instability, financial hardship, or emotional overwhelm.

Every room is designed to make people feel safe, seen, and heard, with gentle spaces like the Library for sharing books, quotes, and quiet reflection; the Cafeteria for recipes, food, and drinks; and the Lounge for entrepreneurs, job seekers, and anyone looking for resources, opportunities, or ways to get back on their feet.

  • Absolutely. Some members come to share. Others come to breathe, scroll, or quietly take it in. There’s no pressure here, just permission to exist in the way that feels best for you.

We also encourage that comments should not be expected but welcomed.
